A Season of Growth, Reflection, and Empathy

Dear Green Mountain Families,
As we wrap up the final month of the year, I am filled with gratitude for the hard work, dedication, and positive energy our students, staff, and families have contributed to our school community. December is a time to reflect on the progress we've made and look forward to the exciting opportunities ahead in the new year.

📈School Improvement Plan: Focus on Excellence
I am excited to share that our School Improvement Plan is in full swing! We are committed to providing the best educational experience for all students and will continue to support each child's individual growth, whether it’s through boosting reading comprehension, fostering critical thinking skills, or creating an environment where every child feels valued and supported. Thank you for being a vital part of this journey!
Please take a moment to review our school improvement plan and answer a few questions. We are always seeking to improve.

💖Character Trait of the Month: Empathy
This month, our Character Trait of the Month is Empathy. Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of others, and it is one of the most important qualities we can develop as individuals. At our school, we believe that showing kindness, listening attentively, and helping others are all expressions of empathy.
This month our counselor, Ms. Nowak, taught about empathy in each classroom encouraging students to think about how they can make a positive impact on those around them. I encourage you to talk about empathy at home and explore how small acts of kindness can make a big difference in our community.

🔢Desmos Amplify: New Math Curriculum
Our district adopted the Desmos Amplify math curriculum for this school year. Desmos Amplify offers an innovative, interactive approach to learning math, focusing on building problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and real-world applications. Through hands-on activities, digital tools, and collaborative learning, students are engaging with math in ways that are both fun and meaningful.
You may have heard your child say there was a guest teacher in their class recently. Teachers spent a day delving deeper into the curriculum and have been working hard to integrate this new curriculum into daily lessons. We’re confident that Desmos Amplify will enhance students' math skills and foster a deeper understanding.
🎆Closing the Year with Positivity & Hope for the Future
As we close out 2025, I encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the progress we've made this year, both big and small. Whether it's mastering a new skill, making a new friend, or overcoming a challenge, every achievement is something to be proud of.

The end of the year is also the perfect time to think about new beginnings. As we prepare to enter 2026, let's focus on setting positive intentions and embracing new opportunities. I believe that with every new year comes a fresh start, and I am excited to continue supporting each child’s growth in the coming months.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Together, we are building a community where every student can thrive!

Wishing you all a joyful and peaceful holiday season, and look forward to welcoming you back in the new year!

Warmly,

Cyndi Garber
Interim Principal
